Our visit to the mayor's office was very fun and educational. We got to sit in the city council chairs and also ask Mayor Battle questions about our city: Recycling and keeping our city clean as well as new greenway projects that the city needs are just a couple of things that were discussed. We ended the tour of city hall in Mayor Battles office where he shared what his view of the city was like. The Church of Nativity steeple was beautiful and they were just beginning to put up the Christmas Trees in the park. -Kat Our Student Council trip to the mayors office was really great for us. We learned all about the duties and responsibilities of being a city mayor. Our group also heard other officers talk about what they did every day in their job. They spend a lot of time in meetings! Going to the mayors work space on the top floor showed us where you will work if you become Huntsville's mayor. I think our trip to Mr. Battle's office was a great way to teach us about leadership.-Chad van Beck
